Welcome back to the Saloon Takes College Football Poll. I don't have as much analysis today, so I am going to briefly cover some of the top teams I haven't been able to touch on yet. Let's get into it!

I’ve covered the top 4 at length in other posts, so let’s start with Oklahoma. This team is a mess. Someone really needs to remind Spencer Rattler that it is far more profitable to be a bust after you’re drafted, not before. The once favorite for the Heisman has seen his odds drop dramatically after less than inspiring performances against Tulane and Nebraska, games his Sooners only won by 5 and 7, respectively. Nebraska is a program in complete disarray, with Scott Frost leading the program into new lows weekly, and Oklahoma barely could escape with the win. Lincoln Riley is still a good coach and Spencer Rattler does still have the intangibles that make him a great quarterback, but he needs to mature quickly if the Sooners have a chance for a title.

Now onto Cincinnati. I love this team. Everything about them is crisp. They do have a tendency to start slow, but once they get going there is nobody out of reach from them. Desmond Ridder is a stud dual threat quarterback who head coach Luke Fickell has taught poise and patience in the pocket, Coby Bryant and Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner are incredible cover corners who both will be difference makers in the NFL next year, and the pass rush as a unit is ferocious and violent. This team has all the pieces moving forward and with all the shake up in the top 10, they have a serious chance to sneak in to the top 4. I’ll be rooting for this team all the way to the end, as they are one of the most fun and exciting teams I’ve seen in years.

There are a lot of frauds on this list, starting with Penn State. I don’t think Wisconsin is very good at all, especially on offense. The same can be said for Auburn, as Bo Nix is still extremely sloppy and impatient. I just don’t see either of these wins as being very impressive. Add in the fact that Penn State beat Ball State by less of a margin than Wyoming, and I just don’t buy into this team. The Nittany Lions have not been tested on defense, and I think they get really exposed once they face a top offense. The same can be said for QB Sean Clifford, who remains unimpressive. It would be surprising if they won 2 games against Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Iowa, but I think one win is far more likely. I really hate this team.

Florida gave one of the best performances against Alabama in recent memory, and they are well-deserving of the top 10. This is a team that controls their own destiny. They have easy matchups with everybody on their schedule except for a home game against Georgia on October 30th. If Florida can win out, including that meeting with the Bulldogs, they’ll absolutely be in the CFP. If this was in Athens, I’d be less confident, but the Gators in the Swamp are a different animal. Dan Mullen will have his team ready to compete, and I honestly believe they’ll be able to pull it off.

That’s all the recap I have from a somewhat slow week at the top of the list. But don't forget, don't buy into the hype on this Wisconsin-Notre Dame game. They both suck. I’ll be back next week, so be sure to subscribe to the e-mail to be notified when I post next!
